{Manual}Wordless Wednesday-After the Storms

Dallas, Texas got hit in 3 main areas with tornadoes last night.  There’s a record of 12 tornadoes that touched down.  It’s a horrible event and many people lost belongings but luckily there were no deaths and few injuries.  We were very fortunate to only have severe thunderstorms.  I love the sky after storms and ran out to snap pictures afterwards.

Autism Awareness Day- My Side

Just in Case you didn’t know, Today is Autism Awareness Day. April is also Autism Awareness Month. Both of my boys are high functioning autistic, they are 7 and 3, and mostly just “appear” to have behavioral problems.

My boys, Noah and Gavin, also both have sensory issues, which increases their frustration and makes their daily functioning a lot harder. They both have problems figuring out how to express their emotions in healthy ways. They both have speech problems, and they both are the most happy and energetic boys I’ve ever met.

Here’s some extra info that the CDC has included this past week, over at the National Autism Association website.

Please just take a peek and stay informed.  Even if this doesn’t apply to you, you may be able to pass on the information to someone who doesn’t know!

Thanks so much!! To Celebrate this month, later today I’ll be starting my

Autism Awareness Fundraiser here on the blog.  So STAY TUNED!

Move Your Marriage Mondays

FunkyFaithGirl

I’m so excited to bring back Marriage Mondays.  I’ll be posting a very short vlog each week encouraging you to Move Your Marriage, and I’ll share what I’ve been doing in my own marriage.   I’m so passionate about what Gods purpose is for our marriage and keeping ourselves accountable to our spouses.   I know that when we let go of keeping our marriage first, then the rest of things in our life will start to fall apart.

Please watch the short vlog below and see if you’d like to follow me along in this fun Link Up.  Yep! Every Monday I’ll be including a linky for you to Link Up with a post or vlog about what you’ve been doing in your own marriage.  Feel free to grab the above button, it’s down on the sidebar.  I’d love to read your posts.

((FYI: I’m not sure what happened to the video, but part of it looks like a Japanese film. :)   Just listen please. ))

Wow That’s Loud- 5 Minute Friday

Wow is it loud in my house most days.  With having 2 autistic boys, add in a little crazy on the side.  Noah is home from school and immediately trying to decompress.  Then Someone wants his toy and there’s yelling and hitting and the feeling of no love between them.  Reagan wants me to color everyday every second.  She’s now whining at me because I can’t and I’m fixing snack.  Or Gavin is yelling because he doesn’t want to share his cars with Noah and Noah’s taking them anyway.  Then Gavin runs away, Noah follows him with anger and the fighting and hitting and possible bitting begins.

This is a normal day.  This is why I usually hate Saturdays when my husband works and especially spring break and summer.  I cannot keep up with them.  I cannot get a break for myself away from the loudness.  It constantly surrounds me and drives me insane.

However, I’m pretty sure I have an auditory/sensory disorder.  Since there’s usually 5 sounds at once around me, my brain literally feels like it will expload and I  have to get out.  I go try to decompress in some dark place in the house.  It’s always there.  The sounds, the fighting the loadness.  It’s maddening.

But in it all, I cherish the times alone with each child.  When I can whisper sweet things in their ears.  For that, it’s all worth it.

*FYI: I took this picture because it never happens.Lol
